Sometimes it can really be very frustrating to know that the waiting list is very long and the wait seems to last forever. If you are lucky, you might get one within as short a wait as a few months but it can also be up to 3 years! There are many children all around the world who are in need of a family so it is not necessary that you must adopt locally. You do not have to give up your dream of adopting a baby simply because it seems to be a daunting process.

Depending on the country you have decided to adopt from, your wait will not be as long as 3 years but can be a few months too. Some countries will try to match you with the child so it can take up to a year. There are also countries which allow you to select the child you want and if it is a neighbouring country, you can even get to adopt a newborn baby! However, if you have decided to use the services of a private agency, make sure you check that it is not a scam.
